SINGAPORE - Iranian duo won the silver medals in the first Asian Youth Games (AYG) 800 meters and shot put events at the Bishan Stadium in Singapore on Friday.

Amir Beyranvand clocked 1:55.93 minutes and finished second in the 800 meters. Ravi Kumar from India claimed the gold with a time of 1:55.91. Thailand’s Herath came in third place, clocking 1:56.33.
Mehdi Karegarinejad won the silver in the shot put event with a throw of 16.76 meters. Chinese Jun Li finished first with 19.45 meters. Panyawut Bumroong from Thailand won the bronze with a throw of 15.95 meters
